Rue is native to the Balkan Peninsula, not Florida. However, it is a larval host for black swallowtail, anise swallowtail, and giant swallowtail butterflies and its invasive potential is low. It likes full to partial sun and can tolerate a variety of soils. The plant is fragrant and flowers are yellow. It can grow to two to three feet tall and wide.
